Women’s Day
Today I would like to present you a bit different point of view – women’s point of view. I have waited with this article a bit longer because I decided that Women’s Day is a great opportunity to showcase some artistic and social insight. I’m not going to write too much so you can just watch, think and make your own opinions.
Let’s begin with a video that my friend Natalia has showed me today:
This short clip is women’s answer to the viral Dodge Campaign shown below. Do you find it funny? Interesting? I think both of them are greatly executed. However, women’s version wouldn’t be accepted into TV (swearing). I have read a few thought-provoking comments on it, and my feelings are kinda mixed. I understand that man’s version was meant to provoke, that’s basically why it went viral. Women’s version can be taken as a joke, strike-back or a feminists’ answer. I think of it as a funny strike-back, although I’ve seen many negative voices. I guess it all depends on attitude.
I’m not a particular fan of male artistic nudes, however, I have recently seen more and more greatly executed artworks featuring men. Art is art, the subject doesn’t matter, so here you go:
I hope it will get you inspired:)
For the end I’d like to show you a bit more political advert. It is NATO’s campaign that brings up an interesting problem: wars are men’s job. What if women had equal rights, would there still be wars? The question is actually very serious as nowadays wars occur in places, where women have little to no rights. Watch, think and decided yourself:

So nice to be mantioned in an article, thx!
I agree, it’s a matter of attitude. I saw the male version first and I liked it. Since the thesis I’ve been looking at commercials in a different way, paying attention to the markting mechanisms behind them. And in my view it’s a very well done adv. Clear message + a bit of humor + dash of controversial view = a sure recipe for a marketing success. People are talking about it and will remember the main message which is already a huge achivement taking the ubiquity of ads. I wouldn’t be much suprised if the same makers were behind the female version too – just to make the discussion, thus the effect, last longer.
When it comes to acts, I liked them a lot. Even though i feel pretty inspired by them, I know I need a looot of time, skills and experience to open to this area of fotography.. Maybe one day.
Hilsen,
Natalia
