Week 25 – The Second Half

Jul 06 2010

Info

The second half of the year and, at same time, the second half of my project begins. Those 25 weeks were really diversified. Both in artistic and personal aspects. From very plain, easy shots, through spontaneous actions, to days of preparations and planning.

I can’t wait to see what the second half of the year will bring, or – more precisely – what me and people around me will create.

Even though I have encountered some timing problems during those 6 months, I enjoyed it a lot. Had fun every time I tried to produce that genuine result and incredible satisfaction when it came to life.

Tech

The arrow shows the direction of the sun. Strobe was set at half power (yup;) and 85mm.

95mm, 1/250s, f10, ISO 200

The original concept had two strobes, but as one misfired due to low batteries, photos gained some really interesting mood that couldn’t be ignored.

Other shots

During the last week I’ve been thinking a lot about that 25th pic. Many ideas came and flew away, and many attempts fell through. I’m not showing many from those session, but I can tell you, they were amazing. Below is one of the shots, taken when I was setting up a strobe during a beautiful foggy evening.

One more photo from that day, completely different in it’s mood, yet as intriguing:

Some News

This week is going to be busy here, on marcinretecki.com. Many photos from recent (and not so recent) sessions to come. I’m especially excited about the Session with Friends project that just got a green light from all participants.

So stay tuned!
